Over the weekend, we attended MomoCon’s mid-season cosplay and photoshoot event, Cosplay on Ice. The event is actually part of MomoCon’s “MomoCon on Tour“, which is a year-round program designed to get the local community involved for more than just a weekend:
Since 2006, MomoCon on Tour has been traveling all over the Southeast hosting photoshoots, dances, art events, game days, tournaments and more! MomoCon on Tour is a great way to experience tiny pieces of MomoCon, some of which we were previously never able to do at the convention due to lack of space and manpower. Some of the photoshoots we host are themed (like the Middle Georgia Massacre, featured in the photo), and some events raise money for various charities (like the Pretty in Pink Ball).
The turnout was great for Cosplay on Ice, despite the rain and cold. Held in Centennial Olympic Park’s Ice Skating Rink in downtown Atlanta, there was an array of costumes, food vendors and curious onlookers. Families came to skate with their favorite characters and enjoy funnel cake. We saw Power Rangers, State Alchemists, Pinkie Pie and the Snow Miser all skating side-by-side. We’re already making for plans for next year!

Fans of Japanese Anime, American Animation, and Video Games come together to celebrate their passion by costuming, browsing the huge exhibitors hall, meeting celebrity voice talent, designers, and writers behind their favorite shows and games, and much much more over this 3 day event.
