We were able to drop by AndoCon for a few hours, and wished we could have stayed longer! This year was the first year AndoCon was open to the public, and it was a great time. AndoCon is an annual convention focused on gaming and the geeky life. This was another small convention, which was perfect for an inclusive atmosphere.
Games were on every table, and even a few new games were out. The good people at The Last Book were there showing off their game, and the guys from Legion were across the aisle showing off their new game too! Our friends from the Secrets Factory were there too! There were gamers of every experience level, from beginner to advanced, and there was no shortage of people around to explain the rules and share awesome games!
Panels were fun and informative, and some of the most unique panels we’ve ever experienced. We got to sit in on a panel discussing how to create your own tabletop game, full of audience participation. In fact, everyone was so excited about the panel, the moderator didn’t get to finish and they expanded to another slot the following day.
The final count was 234 gamers. AndoCon continues on after the weekend ended, and is starting to host monthly gaming meetups. We can’t wait to see how this convention grows, and will certainly be attending next year!
